Biographical Information

Jean G. Vincent, president of Vincent McCabe, Inc. and the course instructor, served as the research and team leader for Project KEEP US. Vincent has more than 25 years as a research and marketing consultant and is an adjunct professor of public relations research at Syracuse University. Prior to founding Vincent McCabe, Inc., she was executive vice president of a research and communications company and directed marketing communications at leading companies including Lockheed Martin and Welch Allyn. Vincent developed a proprietary planning system for the development of marketing communications positioning and strategic planning, and pioneered the use of statistical techniques for new product and brand development. Her strengths are in qualitative and quantitative analysis and its applications to marketing decision-making. She holds a B.S. in Marketing from the State University of New York and an M.S. in Communications Management from Syracuse University.

Brenda Dow, vice president of client services at Vincent McCabe, Inc., is the originator of Project KEEP US and served as the students’ client contact, working with the class throughout the semester. Dow has lived and worked in five of the 12 Central Upstate counties targeted in Project KEEP US. She was born and raised in St. Lawrence County and pursued undergraduate studies in Tompkins County. She worked in New York City and then returned to the area, settling in Madison County with her husband, Jeff Coffin. For 13 years Dow worked at colleges in Madison, Oneida and Onondaga counties as an administrator and adjunct instructor. For five years she has specialized in public relations and market research at firms in Onondaga County. At Vincent McCabe, Inc., Dow’s responsibilities include project management, online survey development, data collection supervision, new business development and marketing communications for the firm. Dow has a B.S. in communication arts – public information from Cornell University and a M.S. in human resources management from Chapman University.
